Vitali Nevski Personal Page (Belarus)

About a site...

This page is intended for everyone who is interested in any measure astronomy, but first of all for those who involved more with observings over various objects of the star sky. I hope, that everyone will find here for himself something useful, both the professional, and the beginning amateur. This resource is created as for reflection of results work observatory. The basic emphasis is made on observings of comets. Now very seriously mention new section of observant astronomy - observings of occultations stars by asteroids, down to independent calculations of occultations. The most fascinating section - an astrophoto! In a photo gallery you can find the pictures received as the usual camera, and in focus 300mm "Newton". And, at last, the most volumetric work - observings of deep-sky objects. In my catalogue it is registered already more than 1000 objects, and some from them are accompanied by pictures which I do not publish in a photo gallery. Work above the catalogue proceeds!

News of observatory

08.01.07 * In section of CCD-observations the datas on more than 20 comets are published, a result of 2 nights!

19.11.07 * Last night the first in observatory visual observations of comet 8P/Tuttle are received, at the end of December the comet becomes probably accessible to observations by naked eye. CCD-observations still several comets have been lead, switching 17P/Holmes.

26.10.07 * The comet 17P/Holmes on October, 24 in outburst on 13m. The comet was observed in the observatory less than in day after the beginning of outburst, has lead two sessions of observations of comet carried at 6 o'clock. Brightness of the comet estimated in limits 2.7-2.6m, a naked eye looks as a star.

The results received at observation from 30-cm telescope are interesting. That that comets looks as a star it not for a long time, the coma comet promptly increases! Carried out measurements of diameter coma with ocular micrometer if in the first session value 45" at daybreak this value has already made 58" is received. The nucleus of the comet as behaves dynamically, in the evening it looked bright and diffuse diameter 5", but the second session of observations, has shown absolutely other picture: the nucleus very much reminded by the form an example of star of subject aberration as it happens in parabolic reflectors at edge of a field, but thus in this picture the star-shaped nucleus was distinctly allocated, the size of all it turned out somewhere 5"х7". Except for that it became distinctly appreciable, that the nucleus is displaced to a southwest concerning the center coma on 5". Visually at 300х while any fragments of the nucleus it is not visible.

On October, 25 - the comet continues to grow, brightness 2.5m. Last night an estimation of diameter coma with ocular micrometer 117". For a day the radius has increased on 36" on the basis of that it is possible to draw a conclusion, that provisional speed of expansion coma 480m/s! The nucleus still star-shaped, is not visible to a fragmentation. In coma approximately on half of radius is looked through more dark than a surrounding atmosphere a ring. Results of observations.

27.09.07 * In the observatory there was independently recovery the comet 156P/Russell-LINEAR. The comet has been found out on ccd-images on September, 21 and by then officially was considered not observable with last returning. The comet was in exact enough conformity with predicted position, therefore its first observations have been published in MPEC 2007-S57 for September, 25. As appeared, a comet up to me observed only on September, 11 on 1.5-m telescope Mt. Lemmon Survey, as object 20m.

On my images for September, 21 the comet looks fainter star-shaped object 19.4m, because of fast angular movement of comet it was impossible to apply expositions more 1min. The comet yet does not show activity.

08.09.07 * On September, 6 images of a comet 139P/Vaisala-Oterma have been received. Officially for that moment the comet was not observed from the last returning, only in Comet-ml in August there was a message on its observation from Werner Hasubick, but it and has not proved to be true till now. After in CBAT results of observations less have been sent than in 2 hours the circular has been published: http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/mpec/K07/K07R31.html

The first attempts to find this comet were on July, 26, but it is unsuccessful, then the comet was fainter 20m. on August, 7 for this comet I has received a series with total time of exposure 38 minutes, in result confidently it was possible to define stars 20.5m, but the comet is not visible. Verner observes it on August, 13 as object 19.5m, comet literally for a week has considerably increased the activity.

03.08.07 * On Jule, 31 in an observatory acknowledgement of outburst supernova in galaxy NGC4036 has been successfully made. Supernova on August, 31 in 11h 45m on world time was discovered Koichi Itagaki (Japan), and in 22h 09m I have received its first images.

Снимок сверхновой

16.07.07 * For last 2 nights images of the comet 93P/Lovas have been received. Officially the comet was not observed from the last occurrence, therefore the received results apply for the status of a recovery. As significant changes from the moment of the last observation at comet C/2005L3 (McNaught) are marked: the comet became much brighter, rather big bent tail has developed. Results of observations.

15.07.07 * The first images of the comet 8P/Tuttle which should become accessible received to observations the naked eye at the end of year . Comet C/2006VZ13 (LINEAR) became brighter 8m at a comet the tail has developed and as two symmetrically located jets are appreciable.

07.07.07 * Today the observatory has been registered in MPC (Harward) for precisely executed astrometria of asteroids. Observatories code B42 is appropriated.
